    What a fascinating beginning to the story. I don't think I have ever come across a story where Harry is a ghost before. I will definitely be going to read the next chater once I finish typing this review.

    I like the way you describe things and the characterization of Ghost-Harry makes me want to hug him. The only thing that I've found a bit distracting is some spelling errors and one or two cases where you used one word when you meant another ("excepted" for "accepted", for example). Given those types of errors I was wondering if English isn't your primary language or if you were using a speech to text program and dictating your story. Regardless, the errors haven't tossed me out of the story. I think you have a lovely talent at writing descriptions and personalities. The events seem vey real to me. I've added your story to my favorites list and look forward to the the rest of the tale.

    It's a good thing I had a box of tissues next to my chair or else my computer keyboard would be wet. This was such a sad chapter! But I'm sure things will get better for Harry soon, won't they?

When Argus Filch first met Harry, he sympathised with the young wizard who showed all signs of having no remarkable magic at all. In fact, the squib could relate to the boy and therefore decided to help him. Together, the two unmagical pair work at Hogwarts where the young orphaned boy will become intrigued by a certain Potions Professor who works there.

    I really like this idea for a fic. I've read a couple "Harry as Almost a Squib" fics but Argus is on'y a background character in them. I really like the idea of Argus being Harry's guardian. I'm really looking forward to HArry meeting Mrs. Norris.

    A lovely tale and I really liked the inclusion of the prayers and seeing how Harry blossomed as Severus' apprentice. There were one or two spots where it seemed that some words were missing (pronouns mostly) but it was not enough of a distraction to ruin my reading experience. I also appreciated your crediting your sources.

    You are a talented storyteller and I hope that you grace us with more of your work soon.

    Thanks for the kind words.  I have wanted to explore Severus' relationship with his mother for a while.  I must admit, this isn't the first time I've had a male character do repairs in my stories.  One of my friends thinks I have a Tim Taylor Home Improvement obsession.

    This is quite frankly, the best Severus fic I have ever read. I've liked everything I've ever read of yours, but this one tops them all. The amount of research and thought you put in this really shows without sacrificing the character development. The realism of thought, feelings, and reactions are exactly right. I have wept as I've read about Sev's experiences and felt a bare fraction of what he must have felt from the descriptions of the battles.

    I suspected that Harry's new friend might possibly be related to Ben and am very happy to find that it is true. I look forward to a reunion between the two men who survived such horrors.

    Thank you for writing this. As a U.S. veteran of the first Gulf War (though, thankfully, I did not personally see any combat) and foster sister of a two-time recipient of the Purple Heart it is wonderful to find a thoughtful, realistic portrayal of the effects of war on the people who are sent to fight it. That was what worried me, that the people who were involved with war, fought in one, or know people who have served would not find it to be accurate. So it is especially good to hear positive comments from you! I am glad that the emotional aspect is reaching you, because I figured that even if my portrayal is not perfect historically (Unless you're there, how can it possibly be?)     I've read this story straight through and really like it. I specially like that Harry isn't ridiculously rich as he seems to be in most other stories.

    But I was wondering where his invisibility cloak is. I don't believe that he would leave it at the Dursley's.

    Anyway, bravo on a great job!

    Author's Response: He's sent his important things to Ron's house for the summer including his cloak and Hedwig.  He really didn't have much anyway aside from his old school books and clothes.  The only thing he's really brought with him are those things and his photo album, but I doubt I'll mention that in the story.
