Regrouping after Ginny is severely injured, Harry goes on a mission for Minerva and discovers that Snape is alive, is living as a Muggle with no memory of his magical life, and has a daughter Lily's age. A fun & sentimental journey to bring Severus home.

Upon discovering his self destructive habits, Dumbledore sends a reluctant Harry to Snape's office. Angst ahoy... don't like, don't read. Warnings: Self harm, tired plot lines, cliche angst, and language. Suggestions for future chapters always welcome.

Well written and in character so far and I like how you made Harry's self-harm more believable by using his experiences with Umbridge. I can really see that happening if he was in the wrong frame of mind. I'm looking forward to more updates! Author's Response: It's really hard to take a character like Harry Potter and keep him in character without introducing some kind of justification... I'm not a big fan of Abusive!Dursleys, so I went with the only thing that made sense to me. Thanks so much for reading!! Sequel to "Snape's Memories". A story based in the "Snape's Memories" timeline. It begins in the Christmas during the Deathly Hallows.

Thanks you! "I am so glad that you are willing to take him, Professor Snape. It would be a shame if Harry was to be deported without the chance to make amends because he is not meeting the requirements of his visa."

However, I do object somewhat to how you are portraying both Harry and Ron, even Snape. You seem to be showing them as lacking any respect at all, when I think we can all agree that they do respect their teachers at Hogwarts to some degree (or fear them, in the case of Snape). I don't believe they would ever talk back to the extent you have portrayed here. Perhaps something happened earlier in the term to make Ron so dissatisfied (maybe he is homesick, missing the twins? not able to receive letters from home?) And I don't understand why Ron's punishment was so much harsher than Harry's when they were both talking back to their teacher. You also hint at Harry pranking a lot - are you mixing him up with James? Finally, I think you are under a serious misapprehension as to what the Commonwealth is. It is NOT an empire - the countries within it are not in any way ruled or controlled by the UK. You seem to suggest that if the US were a part of the Commonwealth they would somehow be subject to British laws. This is most emphatically not true. It is NOT the British Commonwealth; its full name is the Commonwealth of Nations and I think over a billion people across the world, after struggling so hard for independence, would be offended by the inference that the organisation in some way 'belongs' to Britain (or indeed, the UK, don't forget the Northern Irish please, I think they've earned their place on the map). It is an organisation devoted to social goals such as poverty-reduction and peace; it is true that most (but NOT all) members were a part of the British Empire but this in no way ties them to the British political process. Only some member countries retain Queen Elizabeth II as their Head of State. In these cases she is deemed to be a separate legal person for each country. As these countries are all constitutional monarchies, she has little power but she does have the ability to represent these countries abroad. I realise I've gone on a bit but I really think this is an important point. From your story you seem (or perhaps you are making Snape appear?) to be woefully unclear on the nature of the Commonwealth and the extent of the UK's power. Author's Response: Hi, first off thank you for going into so much detail. Let me tackle the first part first and go from there; is that okay? Yes I am aware that the Commonwealth is not an empire. What I am suggesting is that the boys and other Hogwarts students might have the misconception that it is or perhaps in the British Magical world that it is still apart of Britain. I haven't decided and I apologize for not addressing that in my story. I'll either re-edit the chapter or readdress it in a different chapter with the information I know and the information that you have given me.... Again, thank you. I'm well aware of the struggles that the different countries have gone through to gain their independence, as i have quite a few friends living in said countries or have duel citizenship in those countries. I wanted to show that the boys and even Snape have a fuzzy understanding of this because they are insulated from the Muggle world and I am unsure when that history is taught in English, Welsh, Scottish, Southern Irish, and Northern Irish schools. When I was in school we did not teach any of the outside history of the world until we were older, so I was uncertain if this was taught the same way in different countries. I apologize if I offended anyone and will make that publically know. The reason for Harry and Ron's acting out, which I planned to reveal at a later date, is due to a series of events that occurred earlier in one of the previous terms that involved what they considered to be "unfair treatment" by "biased Slytherin-like teachers." They have no real support system, stricter supervision and demands at school(remember it is college prep), and things don't run the way that they are used to. Plus there is the undisclosed series of events, which I will not be addressing in this review. As for what made Ron's punishment much harsher? It isn't actually. Despite Severus thoughts, Ron will not be getting his wand snapped, he is just getting sent home. When he first entered the State-side school, Ron was already on probation due to what the principal and Dean of students considered to be "poor grades" and at the time Harry's grades were just high enough to keep him off the probation list (which will be explained later). By the time this chapter rolled around they are just starting the 3rd term and 2nd term reports have come back in and Ron still is not performing up to standard... so they are sending him back because he did not fufill the requirements set forth by his Visa (which in this story requires him to at least have Cs they were given a one quarter grace period so they could adjust). Harry on the other hand, who did poorly the last two times has been put on probation. Harry is in threat of getting his wand snapped because of something he signed on that paper that Ron didn't (probably due to his father and mother reading over the contract, but that remains to be seen.). Does that answer your questions? If not, feel free to contact me. Again thank you for the review and for being will to discuss the misconceptions! I hope you have a good night or day depending where you live at! The trio want an insight into what goes on at the Order meetings, but they end up gaining some new perspective about a man they never considered much beyond 'ugly, greasy git'... a few itty swear words, nothing too bad. Could be seen as AU.

I also liked the children's reactions - especially Ron's. Too often he is depicted as malicious and stupid where the reverse is actually true. Of course someone almost dying would disturb him, especially someone he knows. Ron is not callous and he really would be the first to jump in and help someone in need. So... is there more???!!! Snape doesn't die - surely?? How will the Order react to their own callousness? How will Snape react to having shown weakness in front of students and people he loathes? More, more, more!!! When a strange new sickness spreads through Hogwarts and threatens to close down the school, what are a couple of students to do but get the best doctor in the world to save the day.

Author's Response: Thanks for reading and reviewing! It means a lot! HAHA, you are definitely right about their relationship being "volatile" hehe. :-D Dumbledore told Harry that he wanted him to let Slughorn collect him. But Harry soon learns that being collected by Slughorn really means. Will he be able to save himself or will he succumb to the man for the greater good? And what does Severus have to do with it all? Was he too 'collected' by Slughorn and will he be able to save Harry before it's too late?

Severus Snape is well aware that Harry Potter is his son, just as he is aware of the kind of care he receives at the Dursleys. He is also quite certain that the boy is far better off without him. Most of the time.
