Title: Chapter 21: A horrible, bloodthirsty beast

I continue to wait impatiently for one chapter after the next--you have me very clearly hooked! Now to express some of annoyance/anger at this Snape you've drawn. It is so hard to see how he could ever, possibly, make up for the depth of his idiocy and cruelty. I won't say he has no redeemable characteristics, because he genuinely shows his love for Ian. But his motivations for being so unstoppably blind and hideous when it comes to Harry just feel so...weak and nonexistent. When he finally comes around, please let him REALLY come around and see everything he has done for what it is. If he doesn't show that he understands just how willingly blind he has been--if he doesn't owe up to the fact that he has rejected a boy who is every bit as much his son as Ian is, it will be a big comedown after your amazing build-up. Sorry if this sounded like a rant--clearly, I'm ranting at your character, and not at your writing. I'm eager for him to make better use of all of that information he keeps shoving aside to "examine later." Can't wait for more!

Thank you so much for the chapter. I like the way you've chosen to go about handling Snape's wake-up call. Rather than him receiving a new bit of startling information that will cause him to change his mind and behavior at hyper-speed, you've described a way for Snape to see things, as they are, with a new perspective, and which is mostly internally motivated. Acknowledging that Harry and Ian aren't so different is a very important starting point. Assuming this new way of thinking about things will stick, I expect the revelations about Harry to start flowing in much more easily to Snape. Perhaps Ian's flaws will become more visible to him, as well? Perhaps he can find himself with a memory full of unbalanced reactions to the two boys' behavior that he is beginning to see the wrong in?Looking forward to see more with Ian, as well. His noticing that Harry seemed upset, but Snape didn't, after their 'support' meeting seemed significant to me. Perhaps this could have suggested to Ian that Harry hadn't done anything in particular to upset Snape, and yet he had been treated less than perfectly, anyway...gee, I can't remember all I wanted to write for this review, but I'll just leave it at this. Fantastic as always. Can't wait to read more!!

Thanks for the chapter! It's nice to see Snape finally seeing something other than James Potter when he looks at Harry. In this chapter, he voiced Harry's similarity to Lily on several occasions, and even noticed something not unlike himself in the boy. If this can continue, I imagine his opinion of Harry and treatment of him will continue to improve. Then, of course, he needs to start seeing Harry as Harry, independent of his parentage. Anyway, I like the way you're giving them an opportunity to open up to one another. Hopefully Severus can continue to correctly read and understand Harry's hesitation in opening up to him, as it seems he is beginning to. Can't wait for more!
Harry and Severus are struck by rare magic-infused lightning, triggering de-aging and altering effects. Four-year-old Harry and twenty-one-year-old Severus move to the Burrow, but Fate isn't finished with them yet...

As always, so fantastic! What a clever and original twist that Severus really feels as if he's experienced the years he jumps. This way, it makes it so much more real for Severus that this is no longer his old life. And that he feels that he has lived years as a Weasley is going to give him a much greater sense of stability to plunge into the whole fatherhood thing. In other words, though I was also anxious, like many of your other readers, to have Harry wake up, I'm so glad you did it this way! And finally, now that Harry is waking up, I am psyched! It looks like you're throwing your usual creative gems into it again! Can't wait to see what you've got planned next :)
Author's Response: Thank you very much! I agree; you're spot on! *blushes* Thanks for the comments, and your review. I am updating now.

Great beginning! I'm really looking forward to reading more. With the James Potter association actually being a bonus for once, I'm curious to see what Harry and Snape's relationship will be like!
One unlucky hit with a strange spell. That's all it took to alter the course of Harry's life - and everyone else's life around him. Bound to stay within ten feet of each other, Harry Potter and Severus Snape have to learn to get along or die trying. But sometimes in the hardest of times, one can learn things never imagined possible. After all, the past doesn't define the future.

COMPLETE. Harry and Hermione go to a prestigious summer school, where Snape is a teacher. Unfortunately for Harry, Snape has spoken to the other staff and is on his way to turning the whole school against Harry.

Parts of this are incredibly painful to read--and what I mean by that is your story is so gripping, and so beautifully described, that you can't help but feel Harry's pain, as if you are really there with him, at all the absurd unfairness of all he has been through/is going through.
And the end of this chapter was simply chilling. I can't help but just despise the Snape you've drawn at this point. In contrast, I love what you're doing with Draco. Perhaps he can be some point of context which can eventually right Snape's perceptions.
Anyway, I can't wait for more!

In short, brilliant.
I'm afraid I can't keep it to short, though.
I was truly captivated the whole way through. There are many things I loved about this story, but much of that stems from how believable you made the characters and their interactions. I felt like I could picture each and every one of the kids and was particularly impressed by how you wrote James.
This goes without saying, but to depict James and Severus as friends in a way which feels so natural and real takes some real skill, and you certainly accomplished it. So often people cast James as an evil ass because it's easier and demands less imagination from the writer, but what you did brought a truly lovely and tangible strength to James Potter as a character, as well as to the very real relationship he had here with Severus.
I also adored the ending. Without being overstated, you pulled everything together, ending on a very hopeful note.
Bravo. I, for one, would love an epilogue ;D Thanks so much for this!
Author's Response: Thank you so much! A lovely review I admittedly read like 5 times haha. I'm glad you liked James and Sev, that was my favourite part of the story.
