my opinions of Snape have suddenly changed, so i started looking and found some amazing fanfics, so can you imagine my surprise when i found you guys. now i'm seriously considering writing one myself.

Following the death of Sirius, Harry isn't sure what to make of the sudden appearance of a six-year-old boy. The pair form a bond, unaware they're half-brothers, and Harry decides to take the boy to Hogwarts and hide him there. To aide the boy's education, Harry anonymously exchanges letters with Snape.

A story of a how a young boy becomes a father-figure to another while their own father is oblivious of their biological existence. But can sixteen-year-old Harry give what he himself has not gained? Can he go an entire year without being discovered? Just how far will Severus go to find the writer of those letters...Or are some things best left unknown?

    man, this is mean. ;) finally figure out who's who and what's what and you pull them apart anyway... if i wasn't so damn attacted to Snape now i'd give up.

    i love how you set up the whole paternity situation for Harry, even though the reasoning is a bit of a stretch. it's nice to see someone actually keep Harry at his chronological age and not revert back to Toby's. Harry's reaction to it and his personality changes are very spot on.

    finally someone's tackled this! that line always bugged the hell out of me, i mean if Voldie lost his body for trying to kill Harry shouldn't something major have happened to Harry when Voldie got his body back?

Because of a potion brewed by Dumbledore, Severus and Harry are trapped in their animagus forms with no memories. Severus, now called Shadow, adopts Harry, now called Viridian, as his own. What happens when Severus gets his memory back? Will he still care about his cub? This is set right before the end of Harry's first year at Hogwarts, although this is AU.

    great big AWWW! especially the start to this chapter, i can just see them curling up together.

    ideas... keep their panther personalities, their relationship, the way they interact even when they're human.... Harry switches back to Viridian whenever he's scared....

On that fateful Halloween, Severus entered Godric's Hollow to find Voldemort dead and Lily and Harry missing. The mystery sent Sirius Black so insane that he spent the next three years searching for them. He found them. It was not a happy discovery.

    i have to admit i'm amazed. the twist is kinda sick - pregnant inferi and all - but you've managed to work up a believable way to connect Severus and Sirius and loose alot of the animosity that was between them.

    i like what you've done with the parseltongue, changing the naming rules and such. it makes more sense since it was just the two boys, but then how did they learn to speak it anyway? some snakes from the forest taught them?

    man, now i'm damn curious as to how it got out that Snape's his dad.

    you should use the whole 'thrice defied him' bit against Dumbledore, Snape didn't turn on Voldemort until after Harry was born. the prophecy doesn't fit because of that.

    Author's Response: Depending on how things happen in the story, it'll probably be a few chapters before they talk about how they figured out Snape's Harry's dad. As for the bit about the prophecy, I might have Snape turn that back on Dumbledore, depending on how far it goes. Since I'm writing it for the summer fic fest, most of it is going to take place during the summer between Harry's fifth and sixth year.
