Author's Response: Thanks! The time has come to go back to Hogwarts, but is Harry ready? Struggling to deal with the loss of Shadow, the alarming discovery of his paternity and the problems created by a newly risen Voldemort, the coming term proves to be the most difficult one that Harry has ever faced. I liked how Snape is still snarky. Good job Author's Response: Thank you - writing snarky Snape is a bit like my drug :) Just can't get enough of it! Before Harry arrives at Hogwarts, the faculty have a meeting and decide that Harry will need a mentor to help him adjust, keep him out of trouble, and make protecting him easier. They decide that this person should the Head of the House into which Harry is sorted, presumably Minerva McGonagall. But things, of course, don't turn out as planned, and Harry is harder to deal with than anyone expected. Nobody asked him if he wanted a mentor, after all...

Just re-reading both stories and wanted to say that they are brill. Also, and I hope you are not offended by this, in this chapter you have Harry punching Percy Weasley in the gryff common room....and then in chapter 13 you have crouch refering to Percy as his assistant. Maybe you already caught that...but it confused me so i thought i would mention it. jay Dudley and Harry flee Vernon - to Severus. A different Tom Riddle, Petunia is good. Lucius and Draco are helpful. Albus is a bit misguided. The twins are only a year older than Harry, so I can make them non-Gryffindor.

I'm totally hooked on this story now. I love how you are getting Lucius and Pretunia together.....brilliant. I think you have depected Tom really well and I like how he is big brother to Harry, Draco and Dudly. I like Hugo to, wonder if Harry is going to call him Uncle Hugo lol. Its nice to see Neville with a dark side too. Author's Response: Glad you're enjoying it. I've had fun writing it. Sequel to “The name is Potter Black!” where Sirius adopted Harry as a toddler and raised him at Hogwarts. This is what happened after the events of the end of Harry’s fourth year. Must read “The name is Potter Black!” first.

I really enjoyed reading this series. It took me two days and i'm in a bit of trouble for staying up all last night to read it but it was worth it. I liked the way you dedicated it to your friend, very nice. Congrats on a great series. Author's Response: Thanks! I'm glad you had fun! I've done that a few times, but they are always worth it. On the night of October 31st, when Voldemort showed up to kill Harry, he found that two of his Death Eaters were already there; traitors. That night left two boys orphaned and seeing no other option, Dumbledore placed both boys on the Dursley's doorstep. Draco and Harry grow up bonding as brothers for they're the only other person they've got to rely on. Come their year at Hogwarts, they're both sorted into Gryffindor. But Severus Snape watches them...will he be able to take them in when they need him; his godson and a boy that should have been his son?

I think this is the first one I have read, from the brothers genre that I actually like. Well done with Snape, he's very believable. Author's Response: jflame, Glad to hear it. Yeah? Well I'm thrilled and honored by your comments! Thanks for the review. -Mel :) (UPDATED: APR 02 2011) Snape wakes up from a coma to a new world in which Voldemort is dead and gone, defeated by Harry Potter. Deciding he has nothing more to live for, he tries to end his life, but things don't quite work out the way he planned. Harry gets pulled in by Dumbledore to assist with Snape's...little dilemma.

Loving this story. Sev and Pebby are soooooo cute. Well done. Darkness swallowed Severus's childhood and is threatening to engulf Harry's. Will the man recognize himself in the boy before history repeats itself? [Generally short chapters due to (almost) daily updates]

I wonder though, did you intentionally have Harry act young in your mind when you wrote this? I know that children who have been denied a parental figure sometimes regress a little. Sort of making up for what they missed. Congrats on a great story, looking forward to reading more. regards jay. Author's Response: Thanks for the review ^^ As you've suggested, Harry does regress into the behaviour of a younger child, especially under highly stressful circumstances. In the last few chapters, this is especially pronounced as Harry has just lost Voldemort's soul shard; that nasty little voice is no longer disparaging him and, therefore, Harry is slightly off-balance and, as he's considerably more confident in his emotions, he's rather needy and does not scruple to conceal it. Also, Harry has Draco as a role model and Draco acts rather younger than his years around his parents, especially his doating Dad. However, Harry often acts with a maturity which is far greater than his years, (i.e. his sentiments towards Ron when 'Scabbers' died), so he's a mixture, like most abused children. Harry runs into Snape while trying to find the definition of home, and finds himself drawn into Snape's summer Order task by the headmaster, looking for a location outside of London. Along the way, he and Snape learn a few new definitions themselves.
